What are the top mobile OS migration barriers? The top OS migration barriers that we’ve seen, that we’ve heard, it really comes down to cost and internal support capabilities. For a lot of organizations, take a large logistics organization that has been using these legacy platforms for several generations. They might be sitting on hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lines of code and the idea that I have to recode all of these applications is a significantly cost and time intensive process. So, the cost of the migration is certainly a top of mind issue but also, there is a skills gap.  

When you’re thinking about modern platforms, when you’re thinking about migration and application modernization and your thinking about resources within IT today; often times either there’s a skills-gap or there’s a resource-gap. A lot of organizations are also facing those barriers when it comes to these migration initiatives.
